Here’s a flamenco step (a tangos remate) with abanico.⁣

Add it to a dance, or use it as an exercise to work on: ⁣

* Contratiempo⁣

* Opening the abanico⁣

* Coordination ⁣

* Strengthening your rhythm ⁣

This step is all about making rhythms with the upper body, and there are only two foot moves:⁣

Step out with your right foot on the count of 1️⃣.⁣⁣

Place your right foot in front on the counter of 6️⃣. ⁣

The counts:

𝟭 Step to the side w/right foot.⁣

& Tap fan on hand.⁣

𝟮 Tap fan on right shoulder.⁣

& Tap fan on left shoulder.⁣

𝟯 Tap fan on right thigh.⁣

𝟰 Tap fan on left thigh.⁣

𝟱 🚫⁣

𝟲 Flick open fan & grab skirt bringing the left hand to the waist. Place right foot in front.⁣

𝟳 Raise arm above head while rotating fan. Turn head to left.⁣

A Note:

You could easily do this move without abanico doing slaps and claps with your hands instead. ⁣

At the end you would just rotate and flip your hand without the abanico.⁣
