Soleá
Traditional

Ojalá contigo fuera
pero no caen los rayos
donde la tormenta suena

I wish I could be with you
but lightening bolts don’t fall
where the storm sounds

I asked David Lagos about the meaning behind this letra.

He said that the letra basically is saying,

I wish we could be together, but even though we are in love, our circumstances won’t allow for this.

Watch and listen to him sing today’s letra during a sound check accompanied by his brother, Alfredo Lagos:

Listen here to an old recording of Niño de Medina singing this one por bulerías.
