Are you tired of picking apart bulerías yet?

I hope not!

In the video below, Juan Garrido talks about how flamenco can be found anywhere and everywhere in Jerez.

He and the others, including the late Juanilloro singing and Juan Manuel Moneo on guitar, then demonstrate traditional bulerías in its pure and spontaneous form.

I challenge you to identify all of the parts of his dance.

Before you watch, take a look at the first letra Juanilloro sings:

Bulerías
Traditional

Que me vengo cayendo
de esta borrachera
de vino que tengo

I’m falling down
from this drunkenness
brought on by the wine

You can hear this about one minute into the video below.

As you watch, try to identify all of the different parts of the structure, the salida, marcajes, paso de bulerías, llamada, patá, final.

Enjoy…

How did you do?

Did you spot all of the different parts? (Spoiler: He does them all.) Which parts did you see more than once? Let me know in the comments below.
