Need to get a flamenco look but don’t have a lot of time or the best set up?
No problem…
I applied this makeup in ten to fifteen minutes standing in a very dusty warehouse under fluorescent lights with only my hand-held mirror taking my mask on and off as needed before performing at Dance Wire’s Momentum festival this week.
If I can do it, so can you!
Here’s what I used & the steps I took:
(All makeup by Beautycounter*)
STEP ONE:
The base.
I used Dew Skin tinted moisturizer on my face and neck for a moisturizing sheen with a hint of color.
STEP TWO:
Prime eyes.
I put on this eye cream followed by Creamy Concealer on each eyelid and below the eyes.
STEP THREE:
Liner.
I applied liquid eyeliner on the top lid and this eye pencil in black to line the under eye. I then softened the edges with the smudge tip. (The liquid eyeliner I used has unfortunately been discontinued, but you could use any liquid eyeliner you like for this or even apply some mascara with a thin paintbrush to act as liner, or just stick to eye pencil.)
You could easily make this look more dramatic by going heavier on the eyeliner.
STEP FOUR:
Shadow.
I used two different shades of this glorious cream eyeshadow. I started by putting on the lightest, “Luster,” on the top of the lid. I then applied a couple of coats of the taupe/silver “Twinkle” from the bottom to just above the crease using the doe foot applicator it comes with and quickly patting it out with my finger to blend before it dried. I brightened things up even more on top of the lids with a touch of very light pink powder eyeshadow. (Unfortunately the powder has been discontinued as well but you could skip this step or use any powder eyeshadow you like.)
STEP FIVE:
Brows.
I filled in my brows with eyebrow pencil then gave them additional shape and definition with this Brilliant Brow Gel.
STEP SIX:
Lashes.
I added one coat of this brand new All in One Mascara to my top lashes.
STEP FIVE:
A bit of color.
I tapped on a touch of bronzer to my cheeks followed by a touch of blush.
STEP SIX:
Brighten and lighten.
I added a swipe of cream highlighter (in “Pearl Glow”) along the tops of my cheekbones and patted it to blend with my fingertips.
STEP SEVEN:
Lips.
I used this Color Intense Lipstick in the berry red, Little Black Dress, which thankfully stayed in tact even though I had to put my mask on right after then remove it as we went on stage.
(You can watch a full demo of me applying a similar look here at a later date in the Experience Flamenco Facebook group.)
(You can see the warehouse in the photo above. The others are screen shots from the above video which I took once I got home after the show. The only thing I reapplied was my lipstick because while the color was still there the creaminess needed some refreshing.)
