I've been getting in the mood for the upcoming Flamenco Retreat at the Oregon Coast this weekend by listening to lots and lots of tangos and dancing all around the house. (More on that below.)
Here's a letra for you to enjoy:
Tangos
Popular
Si quieres que te quiera
dame doblones
son monedas que alegran
a los corazones
If you want me to love you
give me gold coins
They are coins
that brighten hearts
You can listen to Carmen Linares sing it here, and you can listen to Marelu sing another version here.
On Monday I challenged you to fit some flamenco practice in at home ...
I shared Katerina's story and supplied you with four easy steps to squeeze flamenco into your day from home. I'd love to know how it's going for you.
As for me, on Tuesday I worked on tangos in living room, on Wednesday I was at the studio, so I didn't do any practicing at home. On Thursday evening I danced all around the house, the living room, the kitchen, the bathroom because, as I mentioned earlier, I was getting amped up for the beach. Also I had a million things to do, and often when I have a million things to do and I don't want to do them I distract myself (procrastinate) by dancing. Today I'm headed to the beach, but I'm pretty positive I'll squeeze in 5-10 minutes of practice before I head out, and I'll be doing all kinds of dancing in my head on the drive there.
Now it's your turn:
Let me know below in the comments how your at home practice has been going. What have you worked on? What challenges have you encountered? What are you feeling good about?
