Palmas & Compás (Online)

Flamenco Palmas & Compás: During this four week series we will study: tangos, rumbas, alegrías, soleá por bulerías, fandangos, and bulerías. Learn palmas techniques and patterns and how to accompany and enhance the dance, singing, and guitar in a practical flamenco setting so that you may support the cuadro or individual with palmas.

Class Description

The ability to play palmas is an essential skill for anybody and everybody interested in flamenco. If you are a guitarist, singer, dancer, percussionist. (You need this skill.) 

We’ll cover palmas to accompany dance, cante & guitarra

Week One: tangos & rumbas

Week Two: alegrías & soleá por bulerías

Week Three: fandangos

Week Four: bulerías

Learn the rhythms of the styles above and how to play palmas to support the cuadro or individual artist.

Work with different accents, compás, and contratiempo and LOTS of fun playing with patterns.
