Tiro el Dinero Mil Veces | The Weekly Letra

Ready to practice your bulerías palmas?

I invite you to follow along with the video below.

Here’s one of the letras you’ll hear José Mijita sing:

Bulerías
Traditional

Tiré el dinero mil veces
porque aquel que estaba queriendo
hasta el dinero aborrece

*I threw my money out a thousand times
for the one I loved
abhors it

Watch the video below, and play palmas along with it. You’ll hear José Mijita sing today’s letra about two minutes in:

Did you play along?

How was it?

By the way, you can hear him sing this one about one minute in.

UPDATE: After talking to José and Carmen about the letra, I am having a hard time coming up with a translation:

They said that basically the singer is saying he loved somebody so much that he doesn’t care about money at all, so he would just as soon throw it out.

If you have any ideas regarding how to capture this meaning in the translation, please comment below!
