A class for beginning flamenco dancers to learn basic flamenco body and footwork techniques and concepts. (See detailed description below)

All payments are non-refundable, but you may transfer your payment to another class within the same month if you are unable to attend.

What if I've never done any flamenco before? 
No problem! This is a beginning level class. If you feel uncertain, please contact us.  

Class Description:

We'll study basic flamenco techniques & practices including:

• Footwork

• Hand movements

• Arm movements

• Body positioning

• Rhythm & Palmas (rhythmic hand-clapping), an essential skill for any flamenco dancer

• Jaleos (calls of encouragement)

And we'll learn a short choreography.  Interested students will have an opportunity to show their piece at a student fiesta March 1st!

What if I'm not a beginner?
This class addresses beginning-level skills, but dancers with previous flamenco experience who want to review or focus on basic techniques are welcome to join.

This class is held at the Lakewood Center for the Arts and ONLINE via Zoom.
